About Us
About Us
Diversity, in respect to our blog, is the difference in mindsets and motivations, variations and beliefs, actions and practices in institutions that differ between groups.
- Through consented interviewing and observation, our goal is to search for variations in cultural values in how different groups of students (excluding faculty and staff) find reasons and motivations to attend the gym on the USF campus. By compiling our results, we aim to determine trends in both motivations and mindsets of active USF students.
- Once data is collected and analyzed, we hope to post the trends we have observed in active USF Students.
- Humanistic Approach: By finding diversity in trends, we can better understand the different mindsets of the students at USF who go to the gym.

Jamming to Music at the Gym Helps Physiologically
As it turns out, listening to music at the gym doesn't only help with us keeping a rhythm and having fun at the gym, it actually makes us lean mean fitness machines because it actually re configures our body and mental state to use less energy to do more work! As it turns out from the study, listening to music gives a good base for the exercise by providing rhythm and and allowing the mind to focus on other things than the activity at hand. This would make sense because then the body would act on its own in repetition to continue the exercises without hindrances, which increases the work done with less energy physiologically. Even miners sang songs to get them by with a little more ease! So the next time you hit the gym, be sure to remember those headphones!
