About Us

Diversity, in respect to our blog, is the difference in mindsets and motivations, variations and beliefs, actions and practices in institutions that differ between groups.

- Through consented interviewing and observation, our goal is to search for variations in cultural values in how different groups of students (excluding faculty and staff) find reasons and motivations to attend the gym on the USF campus. By compiling our results, we aim to determine trends in both motivations and mindsets of active USF students.

- Once data is collected and analyzed, we hope to post the trends we have observed in active USF Students.

- Humanistic Approach: By finding diversity in trends, we can better understand the different mindsets of the students at USF who go to the gym.

Stereotypes and Gender Roles in the Gym...Switched!

One of the first things I posted in this blog was the perceived  stereotypes and essentially, the roles, that each gender has in the gym. There are two completely different expectations for the types of workout and activities each gender is "expected" to do while at the gym.

This video I found switched the roles each gender "typically" plays in the gym, and the video is honestly hilarious!
